WinISL

WinISL is Pantron's Windows-based configuration and monitoring tool for the ISL-8000 safety light barrier. Connected via USB using the built-in interface, it provides full access to user settings, live device state monitoring, and diagnostic tests. WinISL is portable — no setup program required — and is free to use for all owners of Pantron ISL-series devices.

WinISL uses a USB connection via the FTDI FT232R USB UART VCP driver, which emulates a COM port on your system. Install the included FTDI driver before connecting the ISL-8000 for the first time. If a VCP driver is already installed, you may use your existing version.

WinISL is a portable application. Extract the contents to a folder of your choice (e.g. C:\WinISL or any folder outside of Program Files). No installer is needed — simply run the .exe after installing the FTDI USB driver. A .ini settings file is created automatically on first launch.

WinISL may be used at no cost for owners of Pantron ISL-series safety light barrier systems.
There is no guarantee for the correctness of device states displayed by WinISL — the displays and switching outputs of the ISL device itself are authoritative.

Please follow the ISL operating instructions included with your device for all installation and configuration guidance.

Important Wiring Warning

The minus terminal of the ISL device supply voltage is internally connected to the GND pin of the USB port.
Ensure there is no voltage difference between the 24 V DC minus supply and the PC's frame ground.
For laptops, use a galvanically isolated AC adapter or run on battery power.
If unsure, do not connect the ISL device to your computer. Pantron Instruments excludes all warranties for damages due to electric stray currents.
