Machine Tool Sensors

Lion Precision machine tool sensor systems provide noncontact measurement of spindle runout, axial error motion, thermal growth, and tool eccentricity on CNC machining centers, grinding machines, and precision lathes. Their capacitive and eddy-current probe systems are used for machine acceptance testing, process qualification, and in-process monitoring. Applications range from thread detection in tapped holes (using capacitive sensing to confirm thread presence/absence) to Z-height measurement for semiconductor wafer inspection and grinding machine in-process gauging.
