IMX-A830

The IMX-A830 is an 8-channel automatic multiplex amplifier for large multi-beam installations in harsh industrial environments. It combines automatic transmit power adjustment, selectable switching behaviour, switching delay, primary/secondary operation, sensor control, and alarm output on a high-density channel platform.

Up to 55 m range8 channelsAutomatic power adjustmentAlarm outputSensor controlTransistor outputs

Key Features

  • Detection range up to 55 m in through-beam use.
  • Automatic transmit power adjustment for changing process conditions.
  • Switching behaviour light / dark programmable or selectable by channel.
  • Adjustable switching delay from 0 to 7 seconds.
  • Alarm output and sensor control support deeper system integration.
  • Primary/Secondary operation for expanded multi-channel systems.

Best Fit Applications

  • Large multi-beam sensing arrays in dirty, wet, or contamination-heavy applications.
  • Advanced multiplex detection where automatic compensation reduces maintenance burden.
  • OEM systems requiring alarm signalling and sensor control on an 8-channel platform.
  • Installations where long range and adaptive operation are critical.

Pantron's IMX platform is designed for long-range infrared detection in demanding industrial environments where conventional photoelectric sensing can struggle with contamination, distance, or multi-channel coordination.

Device Layout and Wiring Notes

  • Front indicators show channel status, secondary display, and operation mode display, with test and reset controls on the housing.
  • Function selection is handled by three DIP-switch groups on the side of the housing, allowing per-channel configuration.
  • The catalog notes that the switch number corresponds to the matching transmit channel when setting functions by channel.
  • This page covers the model-specific output and basic transmit configuration while keeping the shared automatic 8-channel platform structure.
