ICL-8100

The ICL-8100 is an eight-channel multiplex amplifier for high-channel-count optical sensing systems in harsh industrial environments. It provides selectable manual or automatic operation, light / dark switching, eight PNP switching outputs, alarm output, analog output, primary / secondary capability, and RS232 communication for configuration and diagnostics.

Device Layout and Wiring Notes

Connector X1 carries supply voltage, test input, primary / secondary, analog output, and alarm output.
Connector X2 carries switching outputs 1 through 8.
Connectors X4 and X5 wire transmitters 1-4 and 5-8 respectively.
Connectors X6 and X3 wire receivers 1-4 and 5-8 respectively.
Front status indicators include a red / green status LED, power LED with system-stop indication, and eight channel LEDs in yellow / red / green.
A front operator button, DIP switch bank, and RJ45 COM connector provide local setup and communication access.
